Not so bad. I actually had a great day, my radiation being only a small portion of it. Things really turned around because I got off to a bad start: i woke up way late, then hit major Houston traffic causing me to be 30 minutes late to my appointment. I could've left earlier if it were just me, but i had my Lil T with me and had to pack a lunch for our afternoon adventure.
I made the most of bumper-to-bumper traffic by returning a few phone calls. What should have taken 30 minutes took me over an hour...how do people do this every day? I guess having endless fun things to do and great places to eat makes up for it; it sure makes me feel more forgiving.
i took my little trooper with me this morn and he couldn't have been any better! He happily ate his breakfast in the car and dealt with being ignored while i was on the phone. He was fascinated by the traffic, any big trucks and big buildings. Once we got to the Radiation Center, we valet parked and rushed in. He was all excited about the labyrinth of hallways and walked excitedly toward the children's area. I was a little worried about how he'd react to me leaving him, but he was great!
Radiation took 30 minutes. I don't feel a thing, I just lay there and relax, the people are nice and its battling this bastard on my knee! Alright!
Next, Lil T and i had a date for the zoo. It was hotter than blue blazes, but i promised my little man. The first thing we did was ride the train. HE LOVED THIS! Then we checked out the animals, feeling sorry for the furry guys stuck in Texas in June.
* Warthogs are insanely weird animals.
* Giraffes are amazingly tall in person.
* Strawberry Icees are much so better than i ever remember.
* There are renagade bunnies hopping around freely at the Houston Zoo.
* There is actually a dove called a "Bleeding Heart Dove" that looks like its been stabbed in the chest. I seriously wanted to alert a zookeeper until i read what it was. ( i'll upload picture from my phone when i figure it out) Its crazy.
* The only comment Tready had about the elephants was "It has big poop."
* My favorite part of the day was how Tready held my hand for the entire train ride.
After all the "Zooperb" fun, we both made it home for a nap.

Great description of the zoo. I just took the kids last week and was treated to a peep show of two turtles doing it. Of course, being the mature person I am, I took a photo with my phone and sent it to Dave.
Hey smack, you should take little T to the childrens museum, it is on Binz just down the street from the zoo. If the train rocked his world the childrens museum will blow his mind. - Matt T.
Wow-- the zoo in million-degree heat. You are a trooper! Next time you and T make a day of it, try to hit up the Children's Museum. It is just a couple blocks from the zoo (and M.D. of course), super fun, and --praise Jesus--air conditioned to the max! http://www.cmhouston.org
Strawberry ICEES!!!!! I had my first Icee in probably 20 years a couple of months ago and now I can't drive past a burger king without driving thru to get one! My favorite is MIXED, coke and whatever the flavor of the month is! I had forgotten how good they were and well.......fun! That's what I told Stan when he asked what I liked about them. They were....FUN! I got a strange look! Hey all you bloggers......escape back in time and have an icee today!!
Love and prayers sweetie! magster
