Good Friends....
...take care of my son, giving me a peace of mind.
...let me camp out at their house for over a month.
...give me a warm reception home, with smiles, hugs, etc.
...don't ask me to go over the details of my treatment again; (i.e they check my blog! )
...weed my garden! Water my flowers.
...wash and fold my laundry!! (what little annonymous fairy did that?)
...contribute to my travel expenses!!! (i'm still in awe of this generosity!)
...give tready love...keep me posted on what he's up to.
...bring Brad & Tready food. They are definately eating better than when i'm the cook!
...insist of buying me sweet-smelling indulgences from Bath & Bodyworks.
...lend / send great books to bring along.
...make me a perfectly travel-sized quilt, stitched with love.
...pray for me.
...show my family love.
...make me laugh.
...lend me clothes for traveling.
...design and collaborate to make a whimsical bluebird mobile..which i LOVE!
...itemize a custom list of great places to eat in the the area.
...let me roller skate with the Big Leagues!
...share their cancer experiences with me
...Help take care of my "baby"
(.......there's sooo much more! These are just off the top of my head)
One of the most important things i've learned from this experience so far is how to be a good friend. I pray that i don't miss an opportunity to return the favor.

silly... you HAVE good friends because you ARE a good friend.
I <3 you!! And I hope you come skate with us again, that was such a blast!
We'll have to do some sort of eating "date" (lol) one day :D

I love this post! FYI on the "big leagues" LOL -- practice next week is on Tuesday instead of Wednesday. Hope to see you there!
When she was pregnant with our twin girls, my wife was admitted to the hospital on bed rest for 5 weeks, leaving me to be a single dad for my 2 year old son while holding down my job as an oncology fellow (before our hours were "limited" to 80 a week!). Without good friends and family doing the things you describe in this post, we never would have survived. With their help, my son saw his mommy every single day of her 40 day hospital stay. Thank goodness for friends who step up during a crisis!
