My Doc from MDA called today. I'm not sure i know enough to have a "plan" yet, but there was some great news:
* the CAT scan showed that there was no mestastisis, so i can hang on to that for days before i get another call! That means NO CHEMO!
* The MRI showed that its an intermediate grade, which we kinda knew already based on the biopsy report. When my mom asked the doctor what this meant, he gave a detailed answer i'll try to replicate here: "There is high grade and there is low grade...and the Intermediate grade is somewhere in the middle."
Here's the part i'm not too crazy about: The Bunion has attached itself to the nerve that the Doc mentioned during our initial visit. She said that they were going to have to remove the nerve, which would mean that'd i'd need to wear a brace to walk. HEY AT LEAST I'LL BE ABLE TO WALK, so i'm not complaining...its just sinking in still. She actually said that some people don't even wear the brace, they just "walk with a limp...." Hmmmmm...can i skate with a limp?
Of course, once i got off the phone i had all sorts of questions, but my Doc is supposed to call me again tomorrow.
Oh yeah, some other stuff was that i'm to get radiation at some point. It's undecided whether to have 5 to 6 weeks of it daily before the surgery (great for those who live in Houston!) or whether to stay in Hospital 10 days after sugery and have radiation then. Hmmm....
i'll know more tomorrow. When i know more, you shall know more!

limps disappear when you are on wheels.
and i doubt a limp would slow you down any ways...

Yes, you can skate with a limp! Having only been on skates 3 times since I had hardware removed from my ankle, I am still "limping" while I skate.
Hey! did i tell you that we went BEDAZZLE CRAZY when i was in Houston last week? or do we all just think alike? I Bedazzled my computer bag and some shoes...but i hadn't thought of the brace!!! I think you are on to something.

I wouldn't worry on the limp too much. Whistling while you walk(skate) turns a limp into a Strut!
