gliddy glub gloopy nibby nabby noopyla la la

Good morning starshine, the earth says hello.........
I heard this song playing on a piano as I entered the lobby this morning. Its a fun good morning song, so i meandered over to the piano to listen up...when i saw that there was no pianist! It's a player piano, just going to town & playing up a storm. Kinda funny at the end---i wanted to clap, but for what? The electrical plug giving it the juice to play? Nah...i'll just write about it.

This song is one that i like at first, but gradually HATE because it gets stuck in my head for days!!! The first part is nice, but the ever-so-catchy jibberish, which i unfortunately have memorized, is maddeningly catchy, durnit! How is one supposed to function with this going thru their head? gliddy glub gloopy nibby nabby noopyla la la - lo losabba sibbi sabba nooby aba nabalee lee - lo lotooby ooby walanooby aba naba?!?!?!

For those of you who may not know, this is from the musical HAIR. The soundtack is great, even if it seems to be written by stoners....see for yourself.

OMG! Hair!! Boy, does that bring back memories of jr. high. Kirk and I saw it in Chicago. Did you know the lyrics to "What a Piece of Work is Man" is taken directly from William Shakesepeare's Hamlet? Also, the Hair era reminds me of Judy Henskee. I've looked for her stuff and have never been able to find it.

Hair! What a wonderful musical ~ "This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius"

And my fav ~ "Easy to be Hard"

In my dreams I sing it with astounding diva quality.

Reminds me of the little hippie I thought I was with my peace symbols and Woodstock LP. Wow, Man!

I love/hate this song for the same reasons. Also, I love player pianos and I clap for everything. I clap at the end of movies. I clapped at the end of the fireworks show on the fourth even though the fire-lighters surely couldn't hear me. I just get caught up in enthusiasm over beautiful work and art and music. And yes, I clapped for fairies every time I saw Peter Pan in my life. And now I clap for you!
