the computer is my friend

and my friend the computer is the ultimate host. Here i am able to "socialize" while laying in bed, long after the rest of the house is asleep. I have caught up on all the goings-on of friends near and far...all without saying a word. Its marvelous and i don't know how i kept up with folks before my little 'puter friend entered my life. We're so happy together.

i'm in such a great mood i just can't go to sleep yet. I haven't been home quite a week yet, and i've only been out of the house twice; tonight was one of those times and it was awesome! Its not because our destination was that spectacular or noteworthy, really. I'm more excited about the trash that was there. That's right, folks, you read it right.

We were on our way into the church where Lil T goes to school, when i spotted a bunch of junk by the dumpster. I quickly scanned the area and remembered that a few days ago the church had just wrapped up a 3 day garage sale. My eyes landed on an old school desk like i had in my elementary school--and it was painted a gaudy orange-red color. It is SO seventies! Surely this wasn't to be cast aside with the rest of the trash. I was certain that it must have put out there for someone to pick up. Could it be that someone would actually throw away such a cool piece of furniture??

Well, i hobbled as fast as you can hobble on crutches into the building. Before i even met T's teacher, i found the lady in charge and asked what the deal was; she said it was all out there for trash pick up. I sent my dad out there, despite the crazy look of sanity-doubting i was getting from him, and had him put out a sign with my name on it. This was just a temporary thing to do while we met the teacher....i knew that it'd be pilfered thru come nightfall, so i had to act fast.

Afterwards, i talked dad into letting me quickly sift thru the remains...my crutches became extensions of my appendages....i could poke, prod, tap all that stuff...it was great. It was probably good that i did't have use of both hands, lest i ended up with a bunch of crap i didn't need. I was pretty much limited to what Dad could carry! it was funny....i realized i was acting like a lunatic who was experiencing newfound freedom...but i rolled with it. It was a lot of fun for FREE.

Dad actually stuffed the school desk into the rental car's trunk!!

You're back! And in action~
Now, a project for you and Anya (and Dad) to work on this week.
I can see you pointing out treasures (with your crutch)
You need an outfit for this next time. At least a hat and gloves...

Ruby,

Thank for the updates. I feel the exact same way you do..I'm not getting out much either, because the Snapper has not made her debut yet and it has been too darn hot! However, I was wondering if you might feel up to a quick visit from us tomorrow?? Just let me know.
