...unplugged, that is! i only have two more tubes left, and those are coming out soon.
I used to squirm at the very idea of a catheter (...and i'm not even sure how to spell it. ) The only time i'd ever had one was during childbirth 3 years ago, and that was so brief i hardly remember it. I am still feeling a little fidgetty just writing about it. Its a weird thing, to be sure, but i'm already missing mine. They took it out a couple of hours ago and, 3 recommended cups of water later, nature calls.
ok....several minutes later, catching my breath. I had to call for help to scoot over to the bathroom, 6 feet away! I am comfortable hobbling with the walker now, but i had to get help with the 2 tubes i still have attached, so they could follow along with the rolling cart of attachments.
I'll be glad to get these attachments off so i can go by myself next time. One of the tubes is a vacuum for drainage from my knee. I'm not sure what will replace it; i think its still draining. The other attachment is an IV for nutrition & antibiotics and its going to be taken out today.

When Nurse Lucy took my Morphine drip away, she told me to "Say good-bye!" I felt like i was parting with an old friend and felt a pang of lonliness.
